Note About Former Railroad Employee Records

E-mail Print PDF

The Erie Lackawanna Historical Society does not have access to nor maintain in its Archives employee records from the DL&W, Erie or Erie Lackawanna. Two web sites that might prove useful to those in search of employee records are the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board web site and for former Erie Railroad employees and a possible lead for former DL&W employees, Jim Sponholz's web site pages dedicated to helping find former railroad employee records.

Members of the ELHS need to login into this site in order to see the menus for the Members' Only sections.  This also applies to accessing the Member's Shop which contains discount pricing.

Your user name is your ELHS member number, only the digits with no "#" before or after. Your member number is printed on the ELHS publication mailing slip sheet.

Your password will be the first letter of your first name followed by your member number followed by the first letter of your last name. So, if John Smith's user name/member number is 5678 then his password would be j5678s. If you use a prefix, Capt., Rev., etc., it is dropped from your password. For those that go by a first initial and name as in; J. Paul, the J will be used (as "j") for your password, only lower case letters being used of course.

If your last name has a space in it as it appears on your ELHS publications mailing label, the first letter of the first word of your last name is used. For instance John Von Smith, Member Number 5679, would have j5679v as his password.

John Von Smith, Member Number 5679, would enter the following into the login popup box:

User Name: 5679
Password: j5679v
